Narasimha Avatar: This half-lion, half-human avatar was taken to defeat the demon king Hiranyakashipu, who was invincible to all other forms of attack.
Vamana Avatar: In this avatar, Vishnu appeared as a dwarf brahmin to trick the demon king Bali into giving up all his power and wealth.
Parasurama Avatar: Vishnu appeared as a warrior to rid the world of the corrupt and tyrannical rulers, particularly the warrior class.
Rama Avatar: This is the most well-known avatar, in which Vishnu appeared as the hero of the epic Ramayana, who defeated the demon king Ravana and saved his wife, Sita.
